About the move

Psychic is a special Psychic-type move introduced in generation 1.

It has 90 power, 100% accuracy and 10 PP.

On top of that, the move lowers the target’s Sp. Def by 1 stage (10% chance).

As a Psychic-type move, it is super effective against Fighting and Poison Pokémon, not very effective against Psychic and Steel and has no effect on Dark. Psychic-type Pokémon get a 50% damage bonus (STAB) when using it.

239 Pokémon can learn Psychic, such as Butterfree, Clefairy, Clefable, Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff.

Official effect

Has a chance to lower the target’s Special Defense by one stage.
