About the move

Overheat is a special Fire-type move introduced in generation 3.

It has 130 power, 90% accuracy and 5 PP.

On top of that, the move lowers the user’s Sp. Atk by 2 stages.

As a Fire-type move, it is super effective against Grass, Ice, Bug and Steel Pokémon, not very effective against Fire, Water, Rock and Dragon. Fire-type Pokémon get a 50% damage bonus (STAB) when using it.

100 Pokémon can learn Overheat, such as Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Vulpix and Ninetales.

Official effect

Lowers the user’s Special Attack by two stages after inflicting damage.
