About the move

Close Combat is a physical Fighting-type move introduced in generation 4.

It has 120 power, 100% accuracy and 5 PP.

On top of that, the move lowers the user’s Defense by 1 stage and lowers the user’s Sp. Def by 1 stage.

As a Fighting-type move, it is super effective against Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark and Steel Pokémon, not very effective against Poison, Flying, Psychic, Bug and Fairy and has no effect on Ghost. Fighting-type Pokémon get a 50% damage bonus (STAB) when using it.

126 Pokémon can learn Close Combat, such as Mankey, Primeape, Growlithe, Arcanine and Poliwrath.

Official effect
